ENERGY SERVICES TECHNICIAN
San Miguel Power Assn., Inc. (SMPA) a growing, diverse, and progressive electric distribution cooperative with over 13,500 meters, is looking for qualified applicants to fill an Energy Services Technician position. The cooperative is located in Southwestern Colorado, serving the San Juan Mountains including Telluride and Silverton, west to the Utah border, and has offices in Nucla and Ridgway, Colorado.
A minimum of three years of experience with energy efficiency and renewable energy projects and technologies. Working knowledge and experience with federal and state renewable energy regulation and policy, such as net metering. College degree in related field is preferred; experience will be considered in place of a degree. It is preferred that the chosen candidate have BPI or Resnet building analyst/energy auditing certification, be a Certified Energy Manager, and/or proven experience with energy efficiency projects and programs. The qualified candidate must have impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to administer energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. Ability to analyze energy use data efficiently across multiple computer applications. Ability to represent the co-op with external organizations, agencies, members, venders and power supplier. Must represent the co-op in a progressive, positive and professional manner in all relationships, both internal and external. Proficiency with online programs, social media, mobile devices and applications is a must. Experience with energy efficiency/renewable energy grant writing and implementation, negotiating and executing contracts, and construction management experience is a plus. Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Colorado Driver’s License. Salary is based on qualifications, with an excellent benefit package.
